What do you get when you combine a teacher, a comedian and a COO?

Either the start of a really bad joke or an attentive, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and entertaining real estate agent.

In this case, you’ve got the latter.

My Story

Hi! I’m Lauren Herskovic, a founding member of Moda Group at Compass (a top producing team), the Chicagoland Regional President of Women of Compass, and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) from the National Association of Realtors.

What does all that jargon mean?

I help buyers and sellers navigate the competitive Chicagoland Real Estate Market. And I do it well 🙂

The home-buying and home-selling process can be overwhelming, whether it is your first time going through it, or your 10th! But my focus on educating my clients, constant communication, and utilizing tried and true systems, make for a seamless and (dare I say it?!) fun experience for my clients.

And don’t take my word for it. Here’s what Kelly - a client I worked with to purchase a condo in Chicago - had to say:

“Lauren was hands down the best resource we could have asked for in looking for our first condo. Not only did she guide us through the whole process smoothly, but every other resource she recommended, from inspectors to lenders to attorneys, was incredible.”

Fun fact: a few years later, I helped Kelly and her husband sell that condo (with multiple offers, over asking price!) and purchase a larger home.

And here’s what Janelle - who worked with me to sell her West Town condo - shared about her experience:

“I cannot recommend Lauren highly enough! We recently sold our condo and Lauren's expertise and guidance made the entire process incredibly smooth. From the very beginning, Lauren impressed us with her local market knowledge. She helped us price our condo competitively and strategically, which resulted in a whirlwind of interest! We were thrilled to receive our offer within 4 days of listing, and Lauren expertly navigated the negotiation process to secure us an excellent deal.”

Background

A smiling woman with brown hair in a green sweater sitting on a gray sofa holding a small curly-haired white dog in a modern living room with a brick fireplace, decorative pillows, and windows with blinds.

I grew up in suburban Detroit and now live part-time in Avondale and part-time in Wilmette with my soon-to-be husband, Adam and my three soon-to-be step-kids, Macyn, Sienna and Asher. (I like to say I’m ‘bi-coastal’ - life in the suburbs is great, but I just can’t quit the city. I love it - and the food - too much!)

I got a BA in English and Secondary Education from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). I then served as Editor in Chief for an online women’s magazine in NYC before working as COO for a consulting company based in Chicago, taking the company from a 3-person operation to a team of 100+ with offices in the US and China.

But that role sucked the soul out of me, so I decided to bet on myself and pursue my passion in Real Estate. I took the leap in 2018 and I haven’t looked back. While the path here was winding and seemingly random, it is that combination of corporate experience, marketing prowess, love of teaching, and my (borderline obsessive) attention to detail that make me (and my clients!) successful. And it is why 90% of my clients come to me from referrals from previous clients.

I can’t wait to show you what we can accomplish together, and the fun we’ll have along the way.
